What ProStudio Display knows about you

The short version

ProStudio Display is a free Mac app. It has no ads, no trackers and no analytics. Your screen is only ever sent to devices on your own network that you connect yourself. The app talks to our server in two cases only: to check for updates, and when you write to support.

Your screen

When you connect an iPad, an Apple TV or a TV, macOS sends the picture straight to that device. We never see it.

When you turn on the Virtual Display and press broadcast, the Mac itself serves the picture on your local network at a private link with a random code in it. It never leaves your network and never passes through our servers. Anyone who has the link and is on the same Wi‑Fi can view it, so share it only with your own devices, and stop the broadcast when you are done.

Update checks

About once a day the app asks api.podcut.pro whether a newer version exists. That request carries the app's name and version, the same as any Mac app that updates itself. It carries no name, email or anything that identifies you.

Support messages

If you write to us from the Support window, we receive:

• the message and any files you attach;
• your email, only if you type it in;
• a random identifier created on your Mac, so your conversation can be reopened — it is not linked to your Apple ID, serial number or name;
• your app version, macOS version and language;
• technical details about your screens and devices — only if you tick the box to include them.

We use this only to answer you and fix the problem. We don't sell it, share it or use it for advertising. Ask us to delete your conversation at any time.

Permissions the app asks for

• Local Network — to find Apple TVs and AirPlay TVs, and to serve the Virtual Display to your other devices.
• Accessibility — to press Screen Mirroring for you when you connect an AirPlay display.
• Screen Recording — only when you broadcast the Virtual Display to a browser.
• Notifications — only after you write to support, so you know when we answer.

You can turn any of them off in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security.
